I live for a lot of things – my wife, my kids, time on the water – but there’s this side to me that still can’t believe I get paid to capture our world in stills and in motion. No matter if I’m airborne, underwater, or in the studio, I strive for an approachable, realistic style that’s natural and not overworked. I’m really excited about the new possibilities that I’m discovering with the addition of video to my portfolio. A lot of my cutting-edge clients are moving in this direction, including commercial accounts such as Neiman Marcus and Oxxford Clothes and editorial clients such as The Land Report and Refueled Magazine. So I get to the plane headed to Farmington, CO(after they weigh me and all of my gear) and wedge myself into a seat built for a kindergartener. I turned to the lady next to me and she says " Last time I took this flight, everyone BARFED"....... Thanks for the info!

Destination: Mexico. Mission: photograph a resort many moons ago. Walking through the airport toting ten bags of equipment, our team (John Wong and myself) met up with the infamous Mexican stop light. Push the button and light turns green...you are free to go. Push button and light turns red....pull over for the big search.

It was not my lucky day....RED......

Before I knew it, we were being whisked away to a back room where they were going to check our papers and work visas. "What?...we need work visas?" "Yes senor...without one you must return to the States on the next plane." One hour later and five crisp $100 bills pretty much gave us the green light and work visas that we needed to get this shot done.
